For those students who entered the Financial Mathematics program in Fall 2018, degree requirements are as follows:
Units for Degree Completion: 1200 - 1300
- Core Courses - 650 units
- FINM 32000 - Numerical Methods
- FINM 33000 - Mathematical Foundations of Option Pricing
- FINM 33150 - Regression Analysis and Quantitative Trading Strategies
- FINM 33410 - Probability for Risk Management
- FINM 34500 - Stochastic Calculus
- FINM 36700 - Portfolio Theory and Risk Management I
- FINM 36702 - Portfolio Theory and Risk Management II
- FINM 37301 - Foreign Exchange: Markets, Products, & Pricing
- Computing Courses - 200 - 300 units
- FINM 32600 - Computing for Finance in C++ (required unless waived via Placement Exam in Fall 2018)
- Elective Courses - 350 units
Any FinMath courses taken in excess of the requirements count towards Electives.
Up to 100 units from FINM 32850, FINM 33160, and FINM 33165 will be counted towards the computing requirement. There is a limit of one Booth course counting toward degree requirements. You may not take BUSF 35125 as an elective if you take BUSF 41202 toward your core requirement or elective requirement.
